Watch the video about social media marketing and comment on it/ in written form.
The video told us about the history of the creation of advertisements and how they are used today. From the beginning, he talked about the current situation in the 1960s and we learned from it that the major advertising companies had their own offices on Madison Avenue in New York as a historical reference. Then he told us about the turning point — the creation of the Internet and its breakthrough. The Internet has changed the world, and the world of advertising has also changed. We were told that in today’s world, you can contact with the advertisements, that is, work with them to some extent. One such company is Medwill, which works with real clients, listens to their opinions and observations. I may not be able to express my own opinion, but I must record that the world ahead of time is also a change in harmony with the world.

ex. 1a

- If your life has changed recently, your friends might need to change too.
- If you have just moved to a new area, it’s a good idea to join some clubs.
- People usually make friends at work, so try inviting some work colleagues out socially.
- Don’t automatically say no to an invitation, even if you are getting ready for bed when the phone rings. If you keep saying no, people will stop inviting you.
- Try to meet your friend’s friends. They like them, so you probably will, too.
- When someone refuses your invitation, try again another time.
ex. 2a

Social networking sites do not seem to help people make close friends, according to researchers who studied how the websites are changing friendships.
Although social networking means that many people now are having hundreds or even thousands of ‘friends’, the researchers believe that to become a real friend, it is still important to actually meet up. Social networking has become very popular recently, but although people now keep in touch with more friends online, the researchers found that we still usually have only around five close friends. We only develop real friendships when we know we can trust someone.
ex. 5a

- Happiness is more important than having lots of money.
- My relationship with my boss has never been very good.

- He gave me some very useful information about the new apps that are available for my phone.
- Have you seen the new development of houses by the river?
- I don’t really like my job, but I need the security of a regular salary.
Grammar. 10a / slide 9

In Poster 1 there are some people who are standing inside a shopping basket. I liked this one because I think it shows the idea of being trapped by shopping very well. It seems to be saying that we don’t/didn’t understand that we are in a cage. It’s a simple but quite a powerful message. Poster 2 looks quite good, but I’m not sure what it is trying to say. It’s obviously based on the Tetris video game, and the four blocks at the top that say ‘buy’ clearly fits, but I’m not sure it would make me want to stop shopping. I definitely prefer the first one.
